San Francisco Architect’s Visual Diary – Oregon
Preservation of Landscape is an ideal that any conscientious design or planning professional pursues. We all appreciate the virtues of being surrounded by nature and the value of non-imposing built – environment, that has been planned well to enhance and celebrate the natural landscape instead of ruining it.
Oregon is at the forefront of smart development and sustainable design as a result of public policies and private partnerships. Portland is often named as the number one city for bicyclists. Cycling culture along with affordable public transportation is very strong . Places like Blossoming Lotus offer delicious food with locally-sourced ingredients, which is also a big focus. The area speaks volumes about conscious planning with very high environmental and social sustainability goals.
